Who? Not Us

It's easy to find ourselves using terms like "us", "we" & "they". True, big picture we're in this together, but we have to let people make their own moves and be responsible for them. Allowing people to be accountable and take control of their own decisions isn't abandoning or quitting on them. It's still possible to show love, compassion, support & empathy...with boundaries.

Trauma GPS

This idea of gauging how "real" we are by the amount of pain we can sustain is why so many of us stay in a constant state of PTSD. It becomes our identity. We begin to associate who we are by our illness, our divorce, our lost loved one or our struggles. We have a society now that has become so married to our pain that happiness, health & wellness our seen as weaknesses. That if we haven't been "traumatically tested" we haven't really lived. We've gotten so used to trauma that we actually look down on people who we feel haven't suffered enough. "Oh you ain't been through nothing".

Pain is inevitable, it's going to happen...let it push, let it fuel, let it teach, but it is not who we are...

Trauma is like that small town we stop in to get gas on a road trip...we had to go through it...but we're not supposed to live there.

A Whole New World

For some, it's incredibly intimidating to be in the presence of someone who knows who they are. When we don't need external validation & aren't fazed by the opinions of others, we become "hard to read" or even "scary/mean". That's their issue to deal with. Self love & awareness will have us vibrating on a completely different frequency... if you only halfway love yourself you won't get it. But when you're 98+2 with you...it's a "whole" new world

Point Of Views

I think this idea that there is only one way to see something is what's got so many of us messed up. Our point of view is based on our past experiences, the information at hand and how we process both. You can be smart and do dumb things. Have a beautiful face and be an ugly person. Do wrong but mean well. Your floor is someone's ceiling. It's a different world depending on where you're standing. Same building, different views...respect other people's windows.

Heal Back To The Future

All of those unchecked internal thirst traps, unresolved issues and unprocessed emotions will have us running back to the same kind of people who we say we don't want. As much as we need to be focused on the future and moving ahead, past traumas, pain and problems will keep us shackled to a particular point and time in the past. It is so important to deal with, then heal those issues. If we don't we can pretty much guarantee what our situations will look like & who we will be dealing with...again.

Even though those struggles are problematic, they are familiar. And that familiarity can lead us back to those folks we say we're tired of. Healing picks up those breadcrumbs and stops us from finding one another. Heal on.

Movie No Magic

I know it's hard to walk away not knowing "for sure" how something is going to end. But if the process of seeing it through is costing us our time, energy, sanity and peace... this may just have to be left an unfinished puzzle. True they "may" change or it "might" get better, but when the girl trips in the woods or they go check out that "strange sound" we pretty much know how this is going to go!

Optical Illusions

This is why we have to believe in ourselves and fight for the life we want. People will see how much money we're making, how loving our relationship seems, our ability to "keep it all together", everything down to our waist size and they will never know what we go through on the daily. The struggles, the frustrations, the pain, the tears... they may never know how much we push through when there's no applause, no sympathy & no support. Keep pushing!
